Life at St. John’s Lutheran

Shaping Well-Balanced Lives

Student life extends beyond the classroom at St. John’s. Through athletics, faith formation, and extracurricular activities, we provide opportunities for students to grow in character, explore their passions, and build lasting connections in a Christ-centered community.

Athletics

Athletics are about more than just playing games—they’re an opportunity to build character, develop teamwork, and glorify God through actions on and off the field. Starting in 3rd grade, students can participate in sports like soccer, basketball, and cross-country, fostering a sense of discipline, perseverance, and camaraderie that extends beyond the competition.

Faith Formation

Faith is the cornerstone of life at St. John’s. From daily prayers and Bible lessons to weekly chapel services, students are immersed in a Christ-centered environment where they grow spiritually and develop strong moral character. Guided by teachers and pastors who model Christian values, students can confidently and compassionately live out their faith in every aspect of life.

Extracurriculars

With a wide range of extracurricular activities, St. John’s offers students countless ways to explore their interests and expand their horizons. There's something for everyone, from music programs like choir, band, and handbells to engaging clubs like Yearbook, Robotics, and Student Council. Field trips to museums, outdoor camps, and even Washington, D.C., add hands-on learning experiences that enrich education and personal growth.

For the Whole Family

At St. John’s, families aren’t just part of a school—they’re part of a close-knit community. The bonds formed here go beyond the classroom, from school events to supportive relationships with teachers and other families. Many of these connections grow into lifelong relationships, creating an environment where everyone belongs and continues to thrive together.

Extended School Program

St. John’s Extended School Program (ESP) is for school families who need care for their children after 3:00pm. This program provides a safe environment for children to socialize, play, eat a snack, and do homework.

ESP is available for all students in grades Preschool-8th grade from 3:00-5:30pm each academic day. Spots are based on the number of staff available, with priority given to those families who schedule their ESP usage in advance using Sign Up Genius.

Because children are automatically enrolled for ESP when registering for school, there is no additional need to register your child for ESP.
St. John's Lutheran School provides a quality Christian education for children from preschool through eighth grade to families in Maple Grove, Corcoran, and the surrounding region.
