St. John's Lutheran School

  • Our official school hours are 8:00am-3:00pm.
  • Kindergarten-8th grade students may arrive as early as 7:00am.
  • Preschool students may arrive as early as 7:30am.
  • All students are required to be in class by 8:00am.

Yes! Our Extended School Program (ESP) is offered each school day from 3:00-5:30pm for all students in grades Preschool-8th grade. The cost of ESP is $10/child per day.

  • Kindergarten-8th grade classes currently range in size from 9-24 students with an average size of 15.
  • The student/teacher ratio in preschool/pre-kindergarten is 10:1.
  • Preschool classes have a maximum of 20 students per class.

No. Students at St. John’s are welcome to wear regular clothes to school as long as they are in accordance with our dress code.

Many of our families who wish to continue with a Lutheran and/or private education for their children enroll at West Lutheran High School (WELS) in Plymouth. We also have families who choose Providence Academy and Heritage Christian Academy. Additionally, many of our students go on to attend area public schools.

Yes! As of 2025, St. John’s is actively researching interest and possibilities for expanding through 12th grade.

  • Kindergarten-8th grade each consists of one class.
  • Preschool has two classes which are divided into preschool and pre-kindergarten.

  • Yes! Financial aid is available for qualifying families with students in grades Kindergarten-8th grade.
  • Financial aid is not available in preschool/pre-kindergarten.

  • Yes, we offer a multi-child discount for families with multiple children in grades Kindergarten-8th grade.
  • Children attending preschool/pre-kindergarten do not count toward the multi-child discount.

In addition to regular events for parents to attend, such as the annual gala, golf tournament, FUNDay, Friday coffee & conversation, classroom field trips, etc., we also offer numerous volunteer opportunities. Becoming involved with our PTL, helping in the library or concession stand, coaching, serving as a lunchroom or recess monitor, and much more are all ways to become involved here at St. John’s.

No, you do not have to be a member of our church, a Lutheran, or a Christian to attend St. John’s. However, priority is given to all St. John’s Lutheran Church members for enrollment.

  • Yes! Chapel is typically held each Friday morning in our sanctuary. Led by our pastors, the service is very traditional in nature and includes use of the Lutheran Service Book as well as hymns and prayer.
  • Families are always welcome to attend chapel service, and many do. Plan to arrive a little early so you can also enjoy coffee and conversation with other parents in the lobby each Friday.

  • Absolutely! Our athletic program begins in 3rd grade and continues through 8th grade. We offer basketball, cross country, soccer, and volleyball, just to name a few.
  • Our current extracurricular activities include student council, yearbook club, and Jr. Engineers club. We also encourage all of our students to suggest and even organize new clubs and activities throughout the entire school year.
  • Students in grades 4th-8th are welcome to participate in weekly band lessons through our partnership with Encore Ensembles. Additionally, students in grades 5th-8th have the option of either participating in choir or handbells.
  • Our extended school program contracts with FPOP Music to offer piano and flute lessons on-site for a separate fee. This is a very popular program, and there is often a waitlist.
St. John's Lutheran School provides a quality Christian education for children from preschool through eighth grade to families in Maple Grove, Corcoran, and the surrounding region.
