St John's Evangelical Lutheran

Middle School Programs

At St. John’s Lutheran School in Corcoran, MN, we provide quality educational programs for students during that very important transitional time from elementary to high school. Through our middle school program, students will grow their knowledge and experience in many subjects including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Religion, Music, Art, and Physical Education. We have curriculum specialized for the educational needs of sixth, seventh, and eight graders. All of the courses are designed to strike a balance between supporting their academic work and advancing their cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth.

A Day in the Life of a Middle School Student

Field Trips & Activities

Our middle school students are provided multiple opportunities for both educational and service-focused field trips at the local, state, and national level. Our students also take part in the many athletic teams and clubs that St. John's offers.

Academics & Learning

Through a departmentalized approach, we are able to provide leveled instruction and personalized supports for our middle school students. Our small class sizes allow students to build a community of learners that serves as a consistent foundation across content areas.

Leadership Opportunities

Our St. John's middle school students are the leaders of the student body. They serve as examples to their younger peers at all-school activities, lead Family Groups each month, and serve as officers and class representatives in our Student Council.

Middle School Classes

Our experienced and skilled teachers are passionate about working with adolescents in their various content classes. Our teachers work together closely to provide cross-curricular experiences that many times extend beyond the walls of the classroom. Their goal is to help students grow into young adults who have a firm sense of who they are in relation to the world around them.
